Cantona‘s ability to attract talent will be crucial to success in his new role. Can you imagine Nasri, Benzema, Gourcuff or some of Cantona‘s other illustrious countrymen plying their trade for the once great Cosmos? After folding in 1985, the New York Cosmos are back.

It could of course go all pear-shaped. The New York Cosmos could be prevented from joining MLS. Eric Cantona could leave in a huff six weeks into the job. And the sceptics will come flying out of the woodwork.

Even if as expected the New York Cosmos project fails to fulfil its headlines, the legendary club have once again grabbed the limelight with the acquisition of a shining star.

    There is no team. There are no players. There is no practice facility, no stadium, no uniforms, no coaching staff and no locker room.

    What, exactly, do you think this semi-psychotic freak, who is currently leading a campaign to bring down Western Civilization by destroying the monetary system (no, I am not making that up – Google “cantona” and “banks”) is going to be doing?
