We hate to say we told ya so… but we told ya so! The four under-performing players we had advised to keep an eye out for during the World Cup qualifiers came through for their teams, just as we predicted. The goal-starved Shevchenko almost guided Ukraine to a memorable draw against England with an expertly-taken strike. The down-on-his-luck Robbie Keane earned the Republic of Ireland a valuable point with his goal against a 10-man Italy. Northern Ireland’s David Healy helped his country to two big victories, against Poland and Slovenia. And even though Portugal is licking its wounds after a disappointing stalemate against Sweden , Maniche can stand a little bit taller because he was not in the squad!
