Poised on a Knife Edge
Half-time at Champions League semis

Almunia stands tall against Manchester United
I guess we were spoiled after all… After two rounds of free-flowing, attack-minded football, the Champions League semi-finals kicked off this week with a couple of goal-stingy affairs. The end result: four world-class teams, two games, and one goal. The two ties on Tuesday and Wednesday can be summed up by the fact that no one can agree on who is going into next week’s second leg with the advantage. Chelsea can feel good that they escaped a mauling at the Nou Camp, but Barcelona surely won’t fire blanks two games in a row. Meanwhile, Man Utd head to the Emirates with a slender lead, but Arsenal will consider themselves fortunate that they’re returning home with everything to play for. The bottom line: it’s still all up for grabs.
