The England v Andorra World Cup qualifier is going ahead notwithstanding the tube strike will make it extremely difficult for fans to get to Wembley Stadium.
FA chief executive Ian Watmore (What? More?) has apologized for inconveniencing the thousands of England fans desperate to see their nation play. Thanks Ian, but it would’ve been a whole lot nicer if you had laid on a couple of hundred buses to take fans from key areas of London and the M25. Or maybe moved the match to Villa Park or Old Trafford. This strike has been threatened for weeks. Don’t pretend it came out of the blue.

Tube strike handicaps England faithful
But what can you expect – after all, Watmore is a graduate of the Gordon Brown School of Public Service having recently served in a senior Downing Street job.
And by the way, where was Lord Treisman hiding today (another grad of the GBSPS)? The Chairman of the English Football Association shows up at those big FA events to shake hands with the great and good. He was noticeably absent today when the bad news was presented.
You can do much better, boys.
If I leave at lunch time I guess I could still make it kick-off…but how do I get home? Haha. It’s a shame really. Can’t go now. Was planning on taking the missus and my dad. No way of getting there and im not risking the drive. Thank goodness we’re not missing a Brazil or Italy match. (No offense Andorra).
You don’t want to go to this game anyway. Trust me. 1-0 England. Heskey toe poke.
