Madrid: Bienvenido Ronaldo!
Wow. Now things are starting to get silly. Real Madrid are on the verge of buying Cristiano Ronaldo for a breathtaking £80 million. Barely days after they scooped up Kaka from Milan. Don’t they realize there’s a recession going on?
What are the repercussions? We will find out. Real Madrid‘s last experiment with Galacticos ended in failure. Who’s to say the same won’t happen again. Team chemistry can never be underestimated.

Real and La Liga will be a formidable force next season
But one thing’s for sure. In one single week, Real Madrid has officially swung the world’s popular interest from the Premiership to La Liga. Spain is now home to the greatest team of the decade (Barca) and the top three players in the world (Kaka, Ronaldo, Messi).
The Ronaldo sale will also set off a domino effect in the transfer market with Real now needing to sell – probably much of its Dutch contingent – and Man United and AC Milan flush with loads of cash to plug their holes. It’s just the start of what’s bound to be an exciting summer.

It’s going to go down as the day football died. Even if the bottom half of la liga pooled their money together, they still couldn’t buy a player for 80 mil. It’s not a game between the haves and the have-nots
Yesssss!! Madrid is back! All is right with the world.
I feel gutted. We’re the biggest club in the world – we didn’t need the money.
I have a feeling we won’t use much of the money this year. Maybe buy a decent winger and wait til next summer to buy someone like Robinho or Messi.
I believe it’s going to turn out to be a fair deal for both clubs. By that I mean they will either both suffer or both make out alright.
It just shows you the B.S. that spews from the mouths of David Gill and Sir Alex. I thought they said the other day very categorically that Ronaldo is not for sale. The Premier League will miss him – - Ronaldo is a great player and all fans (even Liverpool and Chelsea fans??) cannot be happy by this money-driven development.
Agreed, Joe. Especially for those who didn’t like him, like me, it was at least fun to root against him week in and week out.
Good riddens! The brat is someone else’s problem.
Has this deal been finalised yet?
ManU has dropped in some talent with CR and Tevez gone. Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal may be better teams the upcoming season. I see Liverpool winning the title with CR out of the picture and Torres and Gerrard healthy together for more than 17 or so games. Chelsea will be the other big threat followed by ManU and Arsenal.
Ronaldo is the most unreal soccer player in the world!
