Yellow Submarines Sink Opponents 27-0!

Remember the days when you used to come home from an after school kick-about boasting about the double hat-trick you bagged? Well, Jonathan Pereira can do just that…but this time for Villarreal.

During a recent pre-season ‘friendly’ against amateur side Navata, Villarreal racked up an astounding 27 GOALS!! with Pereira notching seven of them. Even the perennially injured Robert Pires managed to get his name on the scoresheet…twice!

While Navata failed to breach the Villarreal defence during the entire 90 minutes, home supporters witnessed one of the most lop-sided score lines in the history of football friendlies. However, with next summer’s re-match already in the pipeline, the yellow submarines have a long way to go if they want to match AS Adema’s record-breaking 149-0 thrashing of SO L’Emyrne in 2002.
