Mourinho Dreams of Manchester
Sorry City fans, that’s not you. With Inter Milan failing to quench Jose Mourinho’s thirst for silverware, it’s United that’s got the Special One under a spell.
Having enjoyed tremendous success at Chelsea and conquered Italy with Serie A, Mourinho feels that the Premiership and Old Trafford in particular is the next best platform for his talents. With the Real and Barca hotseats taken, replacing the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson might just be the challenge to satiate Jose’s winning hunger.
With the Inter manager publicly revealing his desire to succeed Sir Alex, it remains to be seen if the United hierarchy, heavily influenced by a disapproving Sir Bobby Charlton, takes the Special One up on his offer.
PS. In true Special style, Mourinho ended the interview by having a sly dig at his former West London employees stating, “Since I left, I became champion again but they have not been champions again. I keep winning and they don’t.” Ah, a true wordsman. Never one to rub salt in a wound. The Premiership misses you Jose.
