Fourteenth Week Conclusions in the Premiership

Bad refereeing is ruining the game. Another weekend, another round of poor officiating. Granted Manchester City deserved to beat high-flying Chelsea at the Eastlands, all three goals in the match resulted from incorrect refereeing decisions and that’s just not on. We’re not ones to subscribe to the belief that mistakes make for a more interesting spectacle… something needs to be done quickly.

Manchester United thin at the back. Seems like a peculiar conclusion to make seeing as United crushed West Ham 4-0 at Upton Park. However, United finished the match with Michael Carrick, Darren Fletcher and Ryan Giggs alongside Patrice Evra at the back having earlier seen Gary Neville and Wes Brown substituted injured. With Rio Ferdinand suffering from a long-term back injury and Nemanja Vidic yet to return to full form, come January, Sir Alex would be well advised to dip into the market for a competitive, injury-free, centre-back whatever the price.
