Mario Balotelli (Inter Milan) – A strange one to finish on. Balotelli’s name has been floating around football boardrooms for several seasons now. A nutter in every sense of the word, Balotelli has so far struggled to balance his talent on the ball with the off-pitch life of a filthy-rich footballer. Although Super Mario only started two of his side’s Champions League fixtures, and came off the bench on three other occasions, it was his expertly taken free-kick in the final match against Rubin Kazan and his mature link-up play that have many pundits hoping the Ghanaian-born striker has finally turned the corner.
