Time to replace Captain John Terry?
And where is Roman Abramovich in all this? Here is a generous man who watched as Terry lured Man City into tapping him up, and Roman out of the goodness of his heart then increases Terry’s compensation package (when he should’ve wrapped him on the knuckles and reminded him that he has several years remaining on his contract). When does Terry start to pay back Roman for all that the Russian has done for the Romford boy?
The simple point is this: we can and should expect better behaviour from John Terry. We can’t hold him directly responsible for drug-selling by his father or shop-lifting by his mother – though we would’ve thought that with his £175,000 a week he might have used some of that dosh to make sure his parents were well provided for.
But we must recognize that this is not Terry’s first transgression. We can go all the way back to his Jody Morris days for his earliest wrongdoings.
More recently there was the incident of his parking his Bentley with the registration ‘JT 26’ in a disabled space and then heading off for a long lunch. Or his joking about the World Trade Center attacks in a Heathrow hotel bar the day after 9/11 as mourning Americans sat at the next table.
JT is an excellent footballer, there’s no question about that. However, clearly he has some very unacceptable character traits that Chelsea and the England team and the people close to him need to sort out… as soon as possible. Otherwise, the armbands need to be removed and given to players more deserving, such as Frank Lampard or Stevie Gerrard.

Terry turns his back on Chelsea's benevolence

is this a joke???? this is the most ridiculous article ever. The fact that john terry’s parents sell drugs and steal, probably means he didnt have the most disciplined of childhoods, so obviously when he was young he misbehaved, but since then all you got on him is he miss parked his car and now he ‘may’ have taken people around his own clubs training facilities…..even if he did who cares??? its not like there are secrets hidden in cobham. if u cud afford it would u not pay JT 10k to show u around Cobham??? if u were JT and some one says there willing to pay u 10k for a quick tour would u not accept??? The worst thing about this terrible article is that u say that he doesnt sort his parents out. He bought both of his parents houses both of which are within the region of 300,000L-500,000K!! does ur son look after u that well???? didnt think so!! Fact is since john terry was given the Chelsea armband he has grown and matured of the pitch and no one gives him credit for it. I bet when he was 21 after he had misbehaved several times no one would have thought he would go on to Captain england but here he is captaining england and an inspiration to us all. He plays football how it shud be played, and is probably the best captain in the world! and about the summer and man city, nobody can turn down 250,000K a week without thinking about it….so put urself in his shoes before u start telling the world he has unacceptable charachter traits! u dont mention his maturity, determination and most importantly there is no mention of his generosity towards charity. but there wudnt be wud there because ur a bias anti-chelsea idiot.
Olives – You’ve completely missed the point. John Terry earns £175,000 per week; he is the captain of Chelsea and the captain of England. He is a role model for thousands, maybe even millions, of youngsters. He has a responsibility to perform at a level higher than the man on the street. He has failed miserably. And Capello and Ancelotti need to reconsider where the armband belongs. In my view, not on John Terry’s arm. And to respond to another of your accusations, if I was anti-Chelsea, why would I suggest Frank Lampard for England captain.
Hello friend, I looked at your blog and is very well of information, greetings and welcome to you visit.
Good article. JT is suppose to be a role model but his behavior has been a problem. Sadly, Stevie G is no saint (everybody knows he got off the nightclub incident lightly) and Frankie hasn’t been too great to the Mrs(ex!). Not easy to find the correct role model. The Clubs and the FA (and the public) should expect and demand more from the guys who live off our largess.
