Ancelotti's Naked Truth
Ancelotti’s statements are startling considering he will not have a senior striker to call upon when Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou leave for the African Cup of Nations. With the West London club stuttering in front of goal of late and Nicolas Anelka nursing a calf injury, the thought of the inexperienced Fabio Borini and Daniel Sturridge shooting the Blues to salvation seems about as likely as a John Terry charity tour of the club’s training ground. Nevertheless, Ancelotti better hope his words haven’t been lost in translation. Stay tuned…

Let's just hope Chelsea don't buy a striker... for everyone's sake

I really don’t see how they cannot buy in January. Either they already know something about their pending transfer ban that we don’t or Ancelotti has confused his words. I would venture to say that they will be hit the hardest in terms of quality of players lost to the African Cup of Nations.
I expect them to bring in somebody in January because I don’t think Ancelotti will be there next season if the don’t win a trophy this year. It may be Villa which would spell the end of Anelka’s time there I imagine, but it will be somebody.
They need an attacker – someone who can take on defenders and put them on the back foot. But if that’s what Ancelotti looks like naked then I really hope they don’t buy in January.
