Carlton Cole and others worth a pluck

Hugo Rodallega. The swash-buckling Colombian attacker has taken the Premiership by storm in his first full season in the Premiership. Bagging crucial goals in victories over Aston Villa, West Ham and Chelsea, Rodallega has proved a handful for the more physical but less dynamic defenders like Dunne, Upson and Terry. Considering where he was a year ago, if a big team came calling –  Rodallega would bite their hand off.

Carlton Cole. It’s hard to believe that Carlton Cole is 26 years old. I guess time flies when you’ve been out on loan for four seasons. That’s right, the former Chelsea youth product never cracked Roman’s Revolution and was soon shipped out to any team who would take him. But one season under the tutelage of his old teammate and mentor Gianfranco Zola, has ‘young’ Cole on the verge of a World Cup spot. 7 goals in 13 league games this season guarantees Carlton Cole another season in the top flight even if West Ham head south.
