Jose Mourinho: Let the Mind Games Begin
With the Milan derby done and dusted, Jose Mourinho can now concentrate on this month’s mouth-watering Champions League tie between his former club and his current employer. It’s a must win for both Chelsea and Inter Milan – two teams that have repeatedly failed to win Europe’s biggest and most coveted competition. Some believe that Mourinho’s future in Milan is riding on the outcome of this tie. Nevertheless, a lot of pride is at stake – so expect the Portugueezer to do everything in his power to give Inter the edge heading into the first leg. And you know what that means.
Mind games.
They’re Jose’s specialty. His bread and butter. His raison d’être. In fact, Mourinho already fired one shot across Carlo Ancelotti’s bow shortly after the Champions League draw in December. “We won’t need to study them,” he said of Chelsea. “With the addition of Branislav Ivanovic and Nicolas Anelka, they are my old team.”
Ancelloti refused to take the bait, but as next month’s first leg draws nearer, Mourinho will no doubt try again. Ever since he proclaimed himself the Special One, we’ve seen Jose use every trick in the book to deflect the media’s attention away from his players and onto himself. How will he do it this time around? Let’s take a look into the crystal ball….

Same players, yes. Same team? Jose thinks so.
