Jose Mourinho to Real Madrid Sets Off Domino Effect
You’ve got to hand it to the man; he certainly is not short on self-confidence. According to reports, on Friday night Jose Mourinho agreed in principle to become the next coach of Real Madrid. Nevermind the fact that Madrid have yet to fire their current coach, Manuel Pelligrini. And nevermind the fact that Jose‘s current club, Inter Milan, had yet to play their biggest match in half a century.
It was a move that Jose had been insinuating for weeks now. In fact, Footy Factor predicted it would happen more than a year ago (Jose to Real). Now that it’s almost a certainty, it’s going to be fascinating to see how Madrid’s free-wheeling side will operate under Mourinho‘s disciplined edict. (Are you ready to watch Ronaldo tracking back on defence?) And it will be fascinating to see how Madrid’s Galacticos handle being in the shadow of the biggest personality in the game.
Big changes are afoot. And not just in the Spanish capital. More than any other possible transfer, Jose‘s new appointment will likely set in motion a domino effect of big-money player movements across Europe.
