Most Hated Men In Football: Fabio Capello

A strict disciplinarian and master tactician, Fabio Capello was hailed as the perfect choice to reign in England‘s beer and pie culture and bring pride back to the English game. Instead, Capello brought to England the most humiliating moment of its sporting history. England‘s 4-1 loss to Germany was its heaviest World Cup defeat ever. Would it have been less embarrassing if England had simply not qualified… maybe. The psychological wounds could hamstring England efforts for years to come.

But despite failing to get the best out of a talented group of players, seeing all his major decisions backfire and blaming the Germany debacle on Frank Lampard‘s goal, Fabio Capello did get one thing correct: Joe Cole is cr*p.

  1. For winning a higher percentage of competitive games than any other England manager?

  2. Win percentages mean nothing at this point. Fabio couldn’t even get the team to the quarter-final. Even part-time coach and full-time womaniser Sven Goran Eriksson got us that far.

  3. I have also expected more from him!
