Liverpool see Red. Things at Anfield are looking up. Rafa Benitez has been replaced by the affable Roy Hodgson. Joe Cole has signed to add much needed quality. Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres have committed their futures to the club and rumours persist that new wealthy owners are imminent. But before you run down to the betting shop, there’s still a long way to go for the “biggest club in England.” Joe Cole saw red on his debut as Liverpool were forced to play half the match with ten man. The Reds looked to have secured all three points against Wenger‘s kids before goalkeeper Pepe Reina gifted Arsenal a precious point in the dying moments.

I guess this means goodbye? When James Milner was subbed after 85 minutes and waved to the Villa Park faithful, there was a feeling amongst the crowd that this was goodbye. In his final game at Anfield, the Argentina captain put in his usual dogged display made that much more difficult by the sending off of Joe Cole.
