Transfer Deadline Day Drama

Despite another round of heavy spending by Manchester City, it’s been a relatively quiet summer in the transfer market all across Europe. But the prospect for one last big-money move is always a possibility – right up until the deadline on September 1st.

Robinho: Life changed pretty quickly in the summer of 2008 for fans of the Sky Blues. While Man City fans were still rubbing their eyes after their miraculous takeover, the club, armed with its newfound petro-billions, then nicked Brazilian superstar Robinho from under the nose of Roman Abramovich on the final day of the transfer period. It marked the start of a revolution at the Eastlands, although there are probably times when Man City wishes they’d just let Chelsea have him.
