The End of Real Madrid’s Dutch Experiment
The bad news for Madrid fans is that when Florentino Perez returned to Madrid last summer he immediately disbanded the squad that had won the 2006-07 and 2007-08 La Liga titles. Ring any bells? In came superstars Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Out went Ruud van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder. More recently Perez has added Mesut Ozil and Angel di Maria to the ranks which has sealed the fate of Huntelaar, van der Vaart and Drenthe.
Clearly Florentino Perez has not learned from his mistakes. Real Madrid are over £40 million out of pocket on their Dutch investments as a result of Florentino Perez‘s quick-fire sales. With the Special One failing to inspire Real Madrid’s super-egos against Mallorca in their season opener, it’s beginning to look all too familiar for the Madridistas.

- We can’t believe Real let go of Robben and Sneijder on the cheap
