Since scooping the 2007 UEFA Champions League, AC Milan have been left wanting domestically and in Europe. The Rossoneri have watched from the sidelines as city-rivals Inter dominated Serie A and even picked up a Champions League title themselves.

Throughout the summer AC Milan have been criticised by their supporters for their side’s failure to recruit top-class talent. The answer to everyone’s prayers, according to Silvio Berlusconi, comes in the form of Robinho, arriving from Manchester City for £15 million, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who signed on loan for the season from Barcelona. In two swift moves, Berlusconi has propelled AC Milan from also-rans to potential Champions League winners.
