About

Footy Factor takes an intelligent, in-depth look at the world of premiership football. The emphasis is on the big news, the weird and wonderful, and the stories others aren’t telling.
Club owners; Football chairmen; Team managers, Professional players; Player agents; Kit men; Program sellers; Fans…
We are Footy Factor.
The Writers (Please note: their club allegiances have been hidden to protect their objectivity.)
Stan Hughes: Growing up in Lancashire, Stan worshiped Terry Butcher and dreamed of playing centre back for England, much to his father’s embarrassment. After one too many nutmegs inside the 18 yard box, his father finally succeeded in convincing young Stan to hang up his boots and pursue another less taxing game, such as backgammon. Today, Stan tries to satisfy his unfulfilled ambition by serving as senior writer for Footy Factor. (stan.hughes@footyfactor.com)
Trevor Cassidy: Failed footballer. Failed student. Failed mobile phone salesman. Failed lover. Life to date has been a continuous series of disappointments, giving Cassidy a wonderful sense of cynicism, especially about the business of football. Trevor holds no dreams beyond writing for Footy Factor. The good news is, we’re all better off for it. (trevor.cassidy@footyfactor.com)
William Whistle: You know that old cliché “Football’s a funny old game?” Well, not to William Whistle it ain’t. For Whistle, football has never offered anything to crack a smile about. Deadly serious, especially between the hours of 12:30pm and 5 pm on Saturdays, Whistle approaches each game with an impressive eye for detail. He also enjoys British military history, Countdown and indoor leisure parks. (william.whistle@footyfactor.com)
