Taking the reins of <em>Argentina</em> in 2008, <em>Maradona</em> guided the national side through a last-gasp qualifying campaign and then inspired his players to produce the most entertaining football of the first round of the <em>World Cup</em>.</p>

One is <em>Diego Maradona</em>, the only manager at the tournament who has requested his own luxury toilet seat. <p>Normally we wouldn&#8217;t expect to get any sleep this month, but the fact that we&#8217;ve nodded off during several group matches really goes to show that the move from a 24-team tournament to the current format that includes 32 sides was a bad one.</p>
